Kinver Edge and Holy Austin Rock Houses

A short walk of about 3 miles on Kinver Edge in Staffordshire followed by a visit to the Holy Austin Rock Houses which are now owned by the National Trust. These houses were last inhabited in the 1950s. Two of the lower houses have been restored by the National Trust.

Hawkstone Park and Follies

A walk of about 4 miles around the follies at Hawkstone Park in Shropshire.

The park consists of about 100 acres of landscaped grounds with cliffs, crags, caves, clefts and follies created in the 18th Century by the Hill family. After many years of neglect they were restored in the early 1990s and reopened in 1993.

This walk is "A literary walk through Belton Park" from the Guardian web site plus visits to the Wilderness to the west of the house and the Bellmount Tower to the east of the house. This was originally going to be the Jim Jarratt's Sledmere Follies Walk, but ended up as the start of his walk, then the Sledmere Park Walk (which is waymarked from the south-east end of the village) and finally a drive to Sir Tatton Sykes's Monument.
