East Midlands Airport Trail

A circular walk of about 9 miles in a clockwise direction on the East Midlands Airport Trail with an extension to the villages of Hemington and Lockington. Started at the East Midlands Aeropark Car Park (SK440263).

Old trough on the edge of EMA alongside the A453. This is probably all that remains of Finger Farm that was at the south-east end of the runway before the recent airport extensions.

      There is a trail guide with map at http://mag-umbraco-media-live.s3.amazonaws.com/1015/airportplustrailplusguide.pdf
      The best free parking is at the Aeropark Car park near Castle Donnington or in the A453 lay-by.
      The trail runs outside the Airport perimeter fence for most of the way and there are notice boards containg maps and further info at several points.
