The Holy Island of Lindisfarne

A walk of about 12 miles from the mainland across the Holy Island Sands to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in Northumberland. The island can only be accessed  at low tide. Access times are on the Lindisfarne web site.

Sledmere Park

A walk of about 4 miles around Sledmere and Sledmere Park in East Yorkshire.

This was originally going to be the Jim Jarratt's Sledmere Follies Walk, but ended up as the start of his walk, then the Sledmere Park Walk (which is waymarked from the south-east end of the village) and finally a drive to Sir Tatton Sykes's Monument.

Wingfield Manor

Photos taken on a visit to Wingfield Manor in Derbyshire.

This medieval manor house was built in the 1440s for Lord Cromwell, Treasurer to King Henry VI.

Access to the Manor is by pre-booked guided tours only through English Heritage, currently on the first Saturday of the month from April to September.
