Clumber and Thoresby

A circular walk of about 14 miles around Clumber Park and Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire.

The double avenue of Lime Trees is the longest of its kind in Europe.
It was planted in 1840 and is almost 2 miles long with 1,296 common limes.

The black bands date from 1906 when grease was painted around the trunks to trap insects.
After almost 2 miles the end of the Avenue

... followed by more trees which start with small ones...
